Put several PDF pages on one sheet
N-up printing places multiple pages of a PDF onto a single sheet — 2, 4, 6, 8, 9 or 16 at a time — arranged in a neat grid. Drop in a PDF, choose how many pages per sheet, pick A4, Letter, A3, Legal or the size your pages already are, set the blank edge and the gap between pages in millimetres, and turn on a thin outline around each page if you want them to read apart. Each original page is shrunk to fit its cell, keeping its proportions and centred, and the tool tells you the size it will print at. The paper is turned whichever way prints your pages biggest unless you pick a direction yourself, and a live preview shows the finished sheet as you change anything. It is the fast way to make lecture handouts, contact sheets and booklets, and to cut the number of sheets you print by half or more.
Private and client-side
Everything runs in your browser with pdf-lib — your PDF is never uploaded to a server, so even confidential documents stay on your device. Pages are read and re-embedded, not re-rendered, so text stays crisp and vector graphics stay sharp at any zoom. A source page with no content simply leaves its slot empty rather than breaking the layout.
Frequently asked questions
How many pages can I place on one sheet?
Two, four, six, eight, nine or sixteen. 2-up places two pages per sheet, 4-up uses a 2x2 grid, 6-up a 2x3, 8-up a 2x4, 9-up a 3x3 and 16-up a 4x4. As many sheets as needed are created automatically — for example a 10-page PDF at 9-up becomes two sheets.
Will the text stay sharp and selectable?
Yes. Each page is embedded as a scaled-down copy of the original rather than a flattened image, so text, fonts and vector graphics stay crisp at any zoom and remain selectable in most PDF viewers.
Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
No. The whole N-up layout is built locally in your browser with pdf-lib. Your file never leaves your device and the tool keeps working offline.
