Numbers that count themselves, where you want them
Drop in a PDF and every page already carries its number, counting itself as "1 / 12". Then treat it like any other text: drag it to the corner you prefer, change the size, the colour and the typeface, or rewrite the format. Add or remove pages afterwards and the numbering keeps up on its own.
It is written as real text, so the numbers stay selectable and searchable and the pages underneath are untouched.
Numbering that survives the rest of the edit
The numbers are not stamped once and left behind. Delete a page and "1 / 12" becomes "1 / 11"; insert one in the middle and everything after it moves up. So in a session where pages are still being added, removed or reordered, numbering does not have to be the last thing you do — it will be right whenever you stop.

Every page is read, edited and written in your browser with pdf.js and pdf-lib. Your file never leaves your device, and the editor keeps working offline once it has loaded.
Frequently asked questions
Where do the numbers go?
Bottom centre to start with, and then wherever you drag them. Because they are ordinary text objects you can also change their size, colour and font, and give them any position on the page.
Do the numbers update if I add or delete pages?
Yes. They count themselves, so reordering, adding or deleting pages before you save renumbers everything automatically.
Can I start from a number other than 1?
Yes. Click the number and change Start counting at. To leave a cover bare, set First numbered page to 2; the numbers still renumber themselves as pages change.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The numbers are written into the file in your browser; nothing leaves your device.
