Add a clickable table of contents to any PDF
Bookmarks — also called the document outline — are the collapsible, clickable table of contents a PDF reader shows in its sidebar, letting you jump straight to a chapter or section instead of scrolling. Drop a PDF here and this tool reads any outline it already has into an editable list; each row is a bookmark with a title, the page it jumps to, and an indent control that nests it under the bookmark above. Add rows, rename them, change pages, push them deeper with the indent buttons or drag one by its handle onto another, then save a new PDF whose sidebar shows your outline as a proper, expandable tree.

Everything runs locally with pdf-lib, so your PDF is never uploaded to a server — safe for confidential documents, and it works offline. Only the outline is rewritten; your pages, their text and images are copied through untouched. A bookmark opens its whole page unless you mark a spot or an area on it, and a bookmark read from the file keeps the exact spot it already pointed at; saving replaces any outline already in the file, and saving with every title left blank removes the outline entirely.

What are PDF bookmarks?

Will editing bookmarks change my pages or text?
No. Only the outline is added or rewritten. Your pages, their text, images and order are copied through untouched — the tool changes the navigation sidebar, not the content of the document.
Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
No. pdf-lib reads and rewrites the outline in this tab, and the page thumbnails you pick targets from are drawn by pdf.js here too. Nothing is sent to any server.
