Sign a PDF without printing or scanning
Signing a PDF usually means printing it, signing the paper, and scanning it back in. This tool skips all of that. Create your signature five ways — draw it with a mouse or finger, type your name in one of eleven handwriting and print styles, upload a photo or transparent PNG of your real signature, photograph a signature on white paper with your camera, or pick one you kept from a document you signed earlier — then drop it onto the page. Initials and the date are made the same way, so neither has to be drawn again or typed out by hand. Load your PDF, click where the signature should go, drag the size slider until it fits, and click again anytime to move it. When it looks right, download a new copy with the signature baked into the page. Multi-page PDFs are fully supported: page through to the sheet you need and place the signature there.
Private by design
Everything runs locally in your browser with pdf.js and pdf-lib. Your PDF and your signature never leave your device and are never uploaded to a server, so even confidential contracts and agreements stay private, and the tool keeps working offline. One thing to know: this stamps a visible signature image onto the page, which is what most people mean by signing a PDF. It is not a certificate-based cryptographic digital signature — if you need a PKI signature that a verifier can validate against a trusted certificate, use a dedicated certificate signer.
Frequently asked questions
Is this a legally binding electronic signature?
It places a visible electronic signature — a picture of your signature stamped onto the page — which is what the vast majority of forms, agreements, and contracts ask for. It is not a certificate-based cryptographic digital signature (PKI). If a document specifically requires a verifiable digital certificate, use a dedicated certificate-signing tool instead.
Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
No. The PDF is rendered with pdf.js and the signature is stamped in with pdf-lib entirely inside your browser. Nothing is sent to a server, so your document and signature stay on your device and the tool keeps working offline.
Can I place the signature anywhere, and on any page?
Yes. Page through a multi-page PDF to the sheet you want, click on the page to drop the signature, and click again to move it. The size slider scales it, and the on-page preview shows exactly where it will land before you download.
Where are the signatures I save kept?
In this browser, and nowhere else. Ticking "Keep this signature for next time" stores it in local storage so the Saved tab can offer it on the next document — there is no account and nothing is uploaded. Clearing your browsing data, or moving to another browser or device, loses them, and you can forget any one of them from the Saved tab.
