Turn a TIFF scan into a shareable PDF

TIFF is the format scanners, fax machines and document archives reach for, but almost nothing outside imaging software opens it — email clients, phones and web viewers expect a PDF. Drop a single- or multi-page TIFF here and this tool decodes every page and rebuilds it as a PDF, one TIFF page per PDF page, and by default each page keeps its exact pixel size so nothing is stretched or cropped — or choose A4, Letter or another sheet, and how the scan should meet it. Multi-page (multi-strip) scans and the common photometric layouts — RGB, grayscale and bilevel fax — are handled, and a progress readout tracks long documents page by page. Drop in several TIFFs at once and they become one PDF in name order, or one PDF per file in a ZIP, and any scan can be converted to greyscale or black and white.

Private by design

Because browsers cannot open TIFF natively, most online converters upload your file to a server. This one does not: decoding (via UTIF.js) and PDF assembly (via pdf-lib) run entirely in your browser, so your scan — often a contract, ID or medical record — never leaves your device. It works offline once loaded and adds no watermark.

Frequently asked questions

Does it handle multi-page TIFFs?

Yes. Every image inside the TIFF becomes its own PDF page, in the original order, and a progress indicator counts through them for large documents.

Is my TIFF uploaded anywhere?

No. The file is decoded and the PDF is built entirely in your browser with UTIF.js and pdf-lib, so your scan never leaves your device and it works offline after the first load.

Will the text in my scan be selectable or searchable?

No. A TIFF scan is an image, so each PDF page is that image with no text layer. If you need searchable text, open the result in the PDF editor and choose "make the scanned words searchable" — it reads the pages on your device, and nothing is uploaded.
