A reader can spin a page on screen, but that choice lives in the reader and is gone the moment the file is passed on. Rotating here writes the new orientation into the PDF itself, so the page arrives the right way up for whoever opens it next, in whatever they open it with — including a printer, which is usually where a sideways page is finally noticed.

Can I rotate just one page?
Yes. Each page has its own rotate button in the page list, and there is a button for the whole document when everything came in the same way round.
Is the rotation permanent?
Yes — it is written into the saved file, so it opens the right way round everywhere, unlike the temporary rotate button in a PDF reader.
My scan is not just sideways, it is slightly crooked.
The tilt is measured when the file opens, and a "Straighten it" button appears when there is one worth taking out. It runs when you save, along with anything else you chose.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. Pages are rotated and written in your browser with pdf-lib; nothing is sent to a server.
