How the conversions work
Length and mass use exact conversion factors. Data sizes offer both ladders rather than choosing for you: the decimal one storage vendors and networks use (kB, MB, GB — 1 kB = 1000 B) and the binary one most operating systems display (KiB, MiB, GiB — 1 KiB = 1024 B), plus bits. Temperature uses the proper Celsius/Fahrenheit/Kelvin formulas (not just a ratio), so 100°C correctly becomes 212°F.

Are data sizes binary or decimal?
Both are offered and each unit says which it is: kB, MB and GB step by 1000, KiB, MiB and GiB step by 1024. Storage vendors and networks quote the first; most operating systems display the second.
Is anything uploaded?
No. All conversions run locally in your browser.
Can I search for a unit instead of hunting through the categories?

How long is a month or a year here?
A month is 30 days and a year is 365 days, and the page says so above the units — a calendar month and a leap year have no fixed length. Decade and century follow the same 365-day year.
I have an old link with KB in it — does it still work?
Yes. KB used to mean 1,024 bytes here; that unit is now spelled KiB, and a link carrying KB is mapped to KiB, so it opens on the size it always meant.
Are Rankine and Réaumur included?
Yes — temperature offers Celsius, Fahrenheit, Kelvin, Rankine (°R) and Réaumur (°Ré): 0 °C is 491.67 °R and 100 °C is 80 °Ré. Below absolute zero the arithmetic is still shown, with a note that no such temperature exists.
