How much time between two dates?
Pick a start and end date to see the difference as total days, working days, whole weeks (with leftover days), total calendar months, total years and hours — and, underneath, the same span said the way a calendar says it: 1 year, 11 months, 30 days. Add a time of day at either end and the hours and minutes count from those instants. Useful for deadlines, project timelines, anniversaries and countdowns. It runs entirely in your browser.
Counting the end day
"5 to 9 January" is four days to a subtraction and five days of leave to the person taking it. Tick Count the end day as well for the second reading. It adds the day at the start rather than reaching past the end, so a Saturday-to-Sunday span still holds no working days instead of quietly picking up the Monday after it.
Working days, your weekend, your days off
Business days sit beside calendar days with no mode to switch. Choose which days are your weekend (Sat + Sun, Fri + Sat, Sunday only, or none), paste the days your office is closed, and switch on the United States federal holiday list if you need it — that one is worked out from the law's own rules for whichever year is on screen, not read from a table that would quietly go out of date. Does the order of the dates matter?
No. The difference is always positive regardless of which date you put first.
How are months counted?
By the calendar: full months between the dates, and the line under the tiles gives what is left over — "1 year, 11 months, 30 days". A month is clamped the way every calendar clamps it, so 31 January to 1 March is one month and one day. Total days and weeks are exact counts.
Does it count the end day?
Only if you tick "Count the end day as well". Without it the span is the subtraction — 5 to 9 January is four days. With it the start day is added back, which adds one to every count without changing which days they are: a Saturday-to-Sunday span still has no working days in it.
Can I count hours and minutes?
Yes. The Hours tile and the minutes on the line beneath it are always there, and time-of-day boxes beside each date make them exact. They are counted on the wall clock — whole days times 24, plus the difference in time of day — so the same two dates give the same answer in every country and the Hours tile can never disagree with the Days tile over a daylight-saving change.
Where do the public holidays come from?
The ones you type in, plus one optional list: United States federal holidays. That list is generated from the rules in the law ("the third Monday in January", and the Friday or Monday when a fixed date lands on a weekend) for whichever year you are looking at, so it cannot go stale. No other country is offered, because their holidays would have to be a table — several Korean ones follow the lunar calendar and the substitute-holiday rule has been rewritten twice this decade, and a list nobody checks is worse than no list.
